The New York Islanders and Barclays Center are set to make a "major announcement" at the arena in Brooklyn at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A variety of big New York names will be at the press conference, including Islanders owner Charles B. Wang, Barclays Center majority owner Bruce Ratner, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
There's been speculation for several years that the Islanders could leave the New York area, as attempts to build a new arena in Nassau County have fallen flat. Their lease deal with the aging Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum ends in 2015.

Forbes Magazine says the New York Islanders are listed in The 10 Most Likely Professional Sports Team to Relocate, my suggestion they're not moving to Winnipeg or Hamilton, Ontario, It's Oklahoma City they're moving to in 3 years, i bet the Islanders
Forbes has been putting the Islanders as a possible relocation candidate for years..............and I just don't see it happening.

The 14,500 seating capacity for hockey in the Center will now, as it was announced this past Wednesday by National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman, have a new tennant - the Islanders.
