Music: River Kwai slog

As a dispose up to Glory Days X this weekend at Parkview American football gridiron, I’m going to spend the next few days reminiscing almost BNL football.

Don’t let this be a one-man show. My flashbacks aren’t irresistibly your flashbacks, or the best flashbacks.

I’ve been circa since the fall of 1979, so I’ve been entitled to watch a lot of good football players. Today, setting aside how, I’m going to touch on some catchy moments, not all of which occurred in games:

* Gathering Gil Fey and his football staff, which, as best I withdrawal, included Mike Short, Terry Willoughby, Don Kent, Dave Erwin, Rick Flynn and David Erwin. Important personalities, tireless workers. Made me desire I’d played football at BNL.

* Willie Brock, clad in a sleeveless T-shirt, prime the cheers from the bleachers on a bone-chilling evening.

* Reed Johnson, behind a mammoth blarney, firing pin-point passes to Bryan Nikirk, John Williams, David Yeary and Tony Kinser.

* BNL staggering South at Bloomington behind a stingy defense and the storm combination of Jeff Callahan to Eric Garceau.

* The extraordinarily indefinable Ken Madding frustrating would-be tacklers as he knifed for TD run after TD run.

* Underdeveloped Tony Hobbs setting a sect record for tackles against a terrific Terre Haute North  pair featuring a kid named Thompson.

* Marc Anderson, in his first off game as a head football coach, directing the Stars to a gorgeous upset of mighty Martinsville. After losing to Jeffersonville 34-0 that year during the scheduled season, the Stars retaliated by ditching the Devils in the postseason tourney.

* The tears exude in an eerily silent gymnasium after erudition Jason Butler had been killed in an auto casualty following the opening day of practice.

* QB Brandon Buck and LB Nathan Woodward, both with savagely swollen ankles, sharing an ice pail after securing an HHC championship.

* Coby Straitened shredding defenses with his evasive feet and strong right arm.
